BOATS AND TRADITIONAL MARINE

Boats have been part of my life for as long as I can remember and some of my earliest paintings were of sailing ships. In this category it is possible to blur the divide between the more traditional depictions of boats and my more contemporary style.

Wooden boats have a particular attraction, their build shape and design can be an indication of their locality and my paintings of varnished rowing boats have been titled THE BOAT THAT I ROW not just because of  Lulu's hit record but because I've rowed such boats many times and for many miles.
